WWE’s Roman Reigns Says Cody Rhodes Was ‘Nervous’ on ‘Street Fighter’ Set

The rivalry between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes may not be active in the ring right now. Nevertheless, it seems the tension between them continued off-screen as well. Recently, Reigns discussed their time filming the upcoming Street Fighter movie and how Rhodes was “nervous” to be around him.

Both WWE stars took some time away from TV last year to work on the film. The WWE Champion is playing Guile, while Reigns will play the villain Akuma. Despite working on the same project, there were reports that they didn’t interact much during filming.

This rumor gained traction after Rhodes spoke about it in an interview with Chris Van Vliet. Cody Rhodes said that the Street Fighter crew seemed careful about keeping them apart. He also described his relationship with Reigns as “very strange” and said things felt awkward on set.

However, Roman Reigns gave a very different response.

Roman Reigns says he made Cody Rhodes nervous on Street Fighter set

In a recent interview with TMZ, Reigns joked that maybe Cody Rhodes was nervous about him being there.

“I heard that, and the rumor is that he was requesting that. He was a little nervous that I was showing up, because he got there before me and there was only a couple days of crossover, so I think he was a little… You know what it is, the Tribal Chief comes to town, he gets a little nervous, he don’t know what to do,” Reigns said.

Since Rhodes returned to WWE, the two have faced each other in massive matches at WrestleMania 39 and 40, each winning once. There were rumors they might face off again at WrestleMania 42, but those plans didn’t happen.

As of now, Rhodes is focused on defending his Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton, while Reigns will fight CM Punk for the World Heavyweight title at WrestleMania 42.
