Jade Cargill is known for thinking differently, and her latest idea shows how creative she is about wrestling beyond the ring. During a recent appearance on The Joe Budden Podcast, the WWE Women’s Champion shared a unique “Baddie section” idea she once pitched to WWE, but it never made it to TV.
During the podcast, Cargill spoke about her journey, the criticism she’s faced, how she has quickly become one of WWE’s top stars, and her upcoming match with Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 42. But her “Baddie Section” idea revealed a different side of her that kind of shows her business mindset.
Jade Cargill admits her ‘Baddie Section’ concept for WWE Events didn’t move forward
She explained that the concept was to have popular female influencers sitting in special ringside seats at WWE shows. The goal was to make the shows look more exciting and attract new viewers, especially casual fans.
“I was trying to do this whole ‘Baddie section,’ right…or we could name it whatever. But what I was gonna do was have beautiful women, because beautiful women attract men. Can we all agree? So, I was gonna have beautiful women who were influencers, just badass women, come to the shows. They show people, ‘Hey this shit is like super dope…'” Cargill said.
Her idea revolved around marketing. The WWE Women’s Champion also felt it could make those ringside seats more popular.
“It gets more people to the product. I’m attractive. Attractive women attract women. That’s just how it goes. That attracts men. Those seats, next to them, is gonna go up, right?” Cargill added.
She added that this idea could lead to brand deals, too. With sponsors, special seating, and influencer promotion, the “Baddie Section” could have created a new way for WWE to earn money. “And for lack of better words, like you have sponsors to that. The women can have Maybelline. The men can have Sugardaddies or something like that sponsored for them,” Cargill said.
WWE already has a strong fanbase, but she wants to grow it even more. She also mentioned rising stars like Jaida Parker, saying ideas like this could help them get more attention. However, WWE didn’t go for her idea.
“I wanted to do that. It didn’t happen, but I hope it happens in the future because I want to bring more eyes to the product. I feel like, ‘Yes I’m a wrestler. I’m amazing. We’re gonna have our core fanbase whether they like it or not. But my job is to get people who don’t watch wrestling into wrestling. They’re like, ‘Damn, who is that? Let me watch wrestling. What’s wrestling about? Oh shit we got Jaida Parker? We got this person? We got that person?'” Cargill added.
Even though WWE didn’t go ahead with the idea, the former AEW star still believes it has potential. She hopes something like the “Baddie Section” could happen in the future as WWE keeps trying new things.
