Ricky Saints has responded to constant comparisons with The Rock, and he kept it honest. He did not fully reject them, but he also did not take them too seriously.
Fans have compared Saints to The Rock for a long time now. They point to his promo style and confidence, and even his appearance at times. The comparisons only grew stronger after his recent WWE run. Some fans even linked his concert on NXT to Rock’s old concert-style promos.
This is not something new for him either. Back in AEW, Saints, then known as Ricky Starks, heard the same things. During an infamous promo battle with Adam Copeland, the comparison was brought up directly. Since then, fans have continued to joke and troll him online about it.

Speaking to TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Saints shared his thoughts. He made it clear that the comparisons no longer bother him, and he even finds them funny now.
“Talking to his daughter, she would argue that’s not the case (looking like The Rock). She denies that at all.”
“Getting compared to The Rock is fine at this point, it doesn’t bother me, it genuinely doesn’t.” Saints also joked about how fans react. He said, “I think it’s kinda funny when you do one thing The Rock does, and everyone’s like ‘see we knew it! We knew you were trying to be like The Rock for years and years!’ Shut up, oh my God.”
He even laughed off other comparisons, noting that if it’s an insult, it’s a good problem to have.
“Saying that I look like The Rock, if that’s the worst insult you have, that means I’m pretty damn attractive. The whole ‘Temu Rock’, hey buddy, you’re shopping on Temu? Wow. At this point I hear it so much that I find it funny, I used to get Mark Wahlberg at certain points. Matt Damon, I’ve got Matt Damon before.” [H/T: Wrestletalk]
For now, Saints is focused on his own path in WWE. But with The Rock still making occasional appearances, a face-off between the two could be very interesting especially on the mic.
