Triple H Tells Booker T ‘Whenever You’re Ready’ For WWE Retirement Match

A new backstage moment has once again sparked discussion about one last retirement match for two-time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T. Even though he is now working as an NXT commentator, it looks like he may not be fully done with wrestling, especially if Triple H has anything to do with it.

Booker T last wrestled at the WWE Royal Rumble 2023. After that, he said on his Hall of Fame podcast that it would be his final match at that level because he wanted to end his career on a high note.

Since then, he has stayed active as a commentator and has assisted new rising talents by running his Reality of Wrestling school in Houston.

Still, the idea of one final match on his own terms sounds exciting.

Booker T gets response from Triple H on potential final match

The talk started after Triple H shared a backstage video from Gorilla Position. In the clip, Booker T walks up to him and casually says he wants one more match. Booker confidently said, “Put me in. I got one left in me.”

Now, Triple H replied with his caption on his tweet, “Whenever you’re ready… @BookerT5x.”

It is not clear if this wholesome moment remains a joke or can be taken seriously later, but the timing made it more interesting. The clip came shortly after Booker T was honored on WWE NXT during a special appreciation night.

That tribute happened on March 17, 2026, in his hometown of Houston. The segment included a video tribute from stars like Trick Williams, Stephanie Vaquer, and Roxanne Perez, all praising Booker T for his guidance. The Usos also appeared and talked about how they started at his Reality of Wrestling promotion.

But the celebration didn’t go smoothly. Keanu Carver interrupted and disrespected Booker T, saying he didn’t deserve the honor. This upset Booker. But before things got worse, his student Jasper Troy stepped in and stopped the situation. This moment made fans think even more about a possible return.
