WWE has planned for two high-profile matches to open WrestleMania 42 Night 1 and 2.
According to WrestleVotes Radio (via Fightful Select), WWE has planned for The Vision & IShowSpeed vs. The Usos & LA Knight to open Night 1 of WrestleMania 42 on April 18, while Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar will kick off Night 2. However, these are subject to change.
ESPN had also reportedly pushed for WWE to include Brock Lesnar in a part of the package of matches to be included on the traditional ESPN platforms, which the promotion was happy to do.
ESPN’s linear channels will air the first hour of both nights of WrestleMania 42, while the remainder of the PLE will stream on ESPN Unlimited in the U.S. and on Netflix for international viewers.
WWE has announced the official line-up for both nights of WrestleMania 42
WWE has announced seven matches for Night 1 and six matches for Night 2 of WrestleMania 42 so far. The report aligns with the official lineup the promotion announced on ESPN’s Get Up.
Night 1:
- LA Knight and The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso) vs. The Vision (Austin Theory and Logan Paul) and IShowSpeed
- Jacob Fatu vs. Drew McIntyre Unsanctioned match
- Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Liv Morgan Singles match for the Women’s World Championship
- AJ Lee (c) vs. Becky Lynch Singles match for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship
- The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax and Lash Legend) (c) vs. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley and Lyra Valkyria vs. The Bella Twins (Brie Bella and Nikki Bella) Fatal four-way tag team match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
- Seth Rollins vs. Gunther
- Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Randy Orton (with Pat McAfee) Singles match for the Undisputed WWE Championship
Night 2:‘
- Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar
- Penta (c) vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Dragon Lee vs. JD McDonagh vs. Rusev vs. Rey Mysterio Six-pack ladder match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship
- Jade Cargill (c) vs. Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s Championship
- Sami Zayn (c) vs. Trick Williams for the WWE United States Championship
- “The Demon” Finn Bálor vs. Dominik Mysterio
- CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship
Danhausen was recently challenged for a Handicap match at WrestleMania 42, and it could be the seventh match on Night 2.
