An AEW star ended up wearing his wife’s in-ring gear in a hilarious video.
Despite being out indefinitely with an injury, AEW star Josh Alexander appears to be in good spirits as he shared a hilarious video with his wife and former TNA ring announcer Jade Chung. Chung has occasionally stepped inside the ring over the years, and in the video uploaded on her X/Twitter, she found her old wrestling gear and teased a return, asking, “Is it time to get back in the ring?’ She last competed at an independent event in November 2019.
She then tried to cut to one of those transition effects, wearing the gear, as Josh Alexander walked in, using crutches and wearing a knee brace in the background. As she threw away the gear, frustrated over the transition not working, it hit Alexander, and the AEW star hilariously found himself wearing it.
Josh Alexander recently underwent knee surgery after sustaining an injury on the March 18 episode of AEW Collision, and there’s no timeline for his return.
Josh Alexander comments on Jade Chung potentially joining AEW
During his recent appearance on the Battleground Podcast, Josh Alexander noted that Jade Chung worked hard to establish herself as a ring announcer and that it would be a waste of her talent if she didn’t get to do what she loves in a big company like AEW.
“My wife (transitioned) her whole career from a wrestling manager into being a ring announcer just because she was asked to try it. She was worried about it but she’s like ‘Oh, I’ll give it a try, I’ve never done it, we’ll see.’ She went to voice lessons for a year, and she’s still going to this day, even though she’s not doing it anymore,” the AEW star said.
“But she did all this hard work and I think the hard work showed what she was able to do as a ring announcer, like she was getting praise from a lot of people that have been in the industry for a very long time. I think it’d be a terrible waste of her talents to not see her do what she now loves to do and is confident in doing, at a bigger company. AEW would be a very good place for that.” [H/T WrestleTalk]
