Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill to become the new WWE Women’s Champion at WrestleMania 42.
With nearly a year having passed since she last held a world title, Rhea Ripley earned the opportunity to challenge for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42 by winning the Women’s Elimination Chamber match. Ripley faced a tough challenge in Jade Cargill, who matches her in power and strength.
The two superstars had a decent back-and-forth contest, and Jade Cargill showed good improvement in her in-ring skills by introducing new moves to her arsenal. She dominated most of the match, and when things started turning around in Rhea Ripley’s favor, B-Fab and Michin interfered on Cargill’s behalf.
However, Rhea Ripley had some backup in IYO Sky, who came out to take out Michin and B-Fab, allowing Rhea Ripley to capitalize. Ripley then countered a Jaded attempt by Jade Cargill, reversing it into a Riptide to get the pin and become the new WWE Women’s Champion.
Ripley handed Jade Cargill her first defeat in WrestleMania, as she was 2-0 in the PLE until tonight. Being a former 2-time Women’s World Champion, The Eradicator won the WWE Women’s Championship for the first time in her career.
