CM Punk shared an emotional moment with his mom after losing to Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 42.
After weeks of taking personal shots and physical altercations, CM Punk finally clashed with Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 42. Both superstars pushed each other to their absolute limits. Despite bringing his best, exhaustion ultimately caught up with Punk. Reigns capitalized with one final Spear and pinned him to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.
As Roman Reigns celebrated in the ring, fans spotted a gassed-out CM Punk embracing a woman in the front row, who was later identified as his adopted mother. Punk was estranged from his biological mother, who suffered from bipolar disorder, and also reportedly filed a restraining order against her in 2013. Due to his turbulent childhood, Punk’s friend Chez and her mother welcomed him into their family.

Cameras captured Punk collapsing in the background as Roman Reigns celebrated in the ring. However, he gathered up the strength to walk back up the ramp. He even stopped and shared a wholesome moment with a fan by putting on their “CM Punk is Babygirl” shirt.
CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns received rave reviews from fans and critics alike. One WWE legend even called it the best match in years. Punk’s wife, AJ Lee, who lost the Women’s Intercontinental Championship to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 42, teased a hiatus after the loss. It will be interesting to see if the Straight Edge Superstar will also take some time away from WWE television.
As for Roman Reigns, he revealed that he’s done with his part-time schedule and would show up regularly throughout the summer. Reports indicate WWE has already found the OTC’s next opponent.
