CM Punk made headlines after footage of him slapping a fan’s phone away was released online. Now, a new update suggests that WWE talent were dealing with similar issues all weekend long in Las Vegas.
On Monday, TMZ shared fan-shot footage of CM Punk slapping a phone out of a fan’s hand. PWInsider.com ran a subsequent report that featured other stories about fans not respecting talent’s boundaries and an overall lack of security at the hotel. PWInsider previously highlighted the lack of additional security in the hotel, which led to fans waiting in the lobby for talent.
One reader, who chose to remain anonymous, said that an incident similar in nature to the CM Punk one saw Damian Priest helping a female WWE star get away from a group of fans. It was noted that they all sought out photos and autographs, and there were “lots of other instances of similar occurrences” this weekend. The outlet noted there was one instance where a referee was nearly trampled by a group of fans stationed in the hotel.
According to PWInsider, the lack of security at the hotel was a topic of conversation throughout the weekend. Several videos, including Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton and others, have been shared online, with each attempting to fight through groups of people to get to their rooms.
