Jade Cargill Calls WWE Title Run a ‘Practice’ Phase After WrestleMania 42 Loss

Jade Cargill may have lost her title at WrestleMania 42, but she is not slowing down. After losing the WWE Women’s Championship to Rhea Ripley, she is already looking at the bigger picture, calling her title run a “practice” session.

Her match with Ripley was one of the highlights of the night. A lot transpired, with interference from allies like Michin and B-Fab, while IYO SKY helped even things out for Ripley. In the end, Ripley got the win.

Jade Cargill reflects on WWE title run after WrestleMania 42

Soon after the match, Cargill appeared on The Takedown on Sports Illustrated. She talked about her title run, and what worked and what didn’t. Even after the loss, she said she felt ready for such a big stage and saw the whole experience as a chance to grow.

Her title reign lasted 169 days. But she admitted it didn’t fully meet her expectations. She only defended the title once, against Jordynne Grace, and felt she wanted more.

“I wanted to wrestle more, I wanted more competitive matches, I wanted more grit. I really wanted to sink my teeth into whatever was being thrown at me. That’s all I wanted with my reign, but we didn’t get that as much as I wanted, and that’s fine,” Cargill said.

But instead of becoming upset, Cargill stayed positive. She called her first title run a “practice run” and said it has made her even more hungry to come back stronger.

“Now that I had a practice run, I’m gonna call it a practice run, I’m gonna say next time is gonna be totally different,” Cargill added.

Now, all eyes will be on SmackDown. A rematch has not been announced yet. However, it could happen. Cargill’s mindset and recent performances make it clear that she won’t stop chasing the title.
