Booker T says fans were outright disrespectful during WWE WrestleMania 42 weekend in Las Vegas.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T opened up about the behavior of the fans who were camped outside the MGM Grand hotel in Las Vegas, where the talent stayed during WrestleMania 42 weekend.
Booker T noted that a fan went too far by filming him inside the bathroom. He stated that WrestleMania 42 weekend was the most challenging time he had ever experienced in terms of fan interactions.
“They were camped out everywhere. You couldn’t walk in, and they were following you in the bathroom. I remember the guy literally was filming me in the bathroom, and when I walked out, he goes, ‘Hey Booker,’ and I just kept walking because I was so mad. For me, it was the toughest time I’ve ever had to deal with as far as the fan interaction this year at WrestleMania in Vegas. A lot of them were just really outright disrespectful,” Booker T said.
Apart from the Booker T incident, CM Punk had an altercation with a fan who filmed AJ Lee and Bayley without their consent. Damian Priest also reportedly saved a female star from a group of fans.
AJ Styles also faced a similar fan encounter as Booker T
Like Booker T, new WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles also faced some tough times with fan interactions during WrestleMania 42 weekend. He noted that the fans swarmed him like bees.
“I said, ‘Hey, I’m not taking pictures right now. I’m sorry,’ and they just swarm me like bees,” AJ Styles revealed. “Even this one guy, even though I told him ‘No pictures. I can’t,’ he was walking and just doing that and laying on me. I’m like, ‘Whoa, whoa,’ and finally, security was able to find me and take me to the elevator.
“I understand that they think they know the superstars because they’ve watched them for so long. But at the same time, you gotta remember that they’re real people. It can get overwhelming when that many people swarm you like that. So, I get it. No means no, pictures or whatnot. If they ask you not to, chill out,” AJ Styles said.
