The rivalry between MJF and Darby Allin took a wild turn on the May 6, 2026 episode of AEW Dynamite when the AEW World Champion told MJF he would need to put his hair on the line for another title shot.
The segment happened right after Allin successfully defended the AEW World Championship against Kevin Knight in the main event. Allin kept the title after hitting two Coffin Drops for the win.
MJF forced to risk his hair for an AEW World Title opportunity
As the show was about to end, MJF interrupted and demanded another match for the title he lost after Dynasty.
He insulted the crowd and mocked Allin’s championship run, saying nobody wanted to see him as champion anymore. But Allin said he would only give him a rematch if MJF was willing to risk something big.
At first, MJF laughed it off. He first offered to put his famous Burberry scarf on the line for the title match, but Allin instantly turned it down. He then offered his Dynamite Diamond Ring, another big part of his character. Allin still said no.
MJF then tried money, offering Allin $1 million for the rematch. But the champion didn’t care. Allin reminded MJF that he once lived in his car under a bridge and said money means nothing to him. Then he revealed what he actually wanted.
Allin feels the only thing MJF truly values is his hair.
Allin joked about MJF supposedly going to Turkey for a hair transplant. He said he wanted the hair MJF cared enough about to “fly fifteen hours to Turkey” for. The crowd started chanting “Bald!” while MJF looked uncomfortable and tried to play down the situation. He asked Allin to “be reasonable.”
But Allin pushed things even further and officially challenged him to a “Championship vs. Hair” match. He then added one more condition.
Allin said that they would have a contract signing on next week’s Dynamite and warned MJF that if he didn’t show up, he would never get another AEW World Title shot. MJF looked shaken by the challenge. Without answering, he immediately left the arena.
