Roman Reigns’ WWE future recently became a big topic of discussion, especially after the recent reports of contract negotiations from TKO. Reigns being quietly removed from several advertised upcoming appearances also stoked the flames.
The sudden change led to rumors that there could be tension between Reigns and WWE’s parent company. Fans started speculating about possible contract issues, schedule disagreements, and even rumors about pay cuts.
However, a new report suggests there is no real concern behind the scenes about Reigns’ WWE future.
TKO Reportedly Unconcerned About Roman Reigns’ WWE Status Amid Speculation
According to Fightful Select, both WWE and TKO are completely confident about Reigns’ future with the company despite rumors.
“There is no concern internally within WWE or TKO regarding Roman Reigns’ status with the company, @WrestleVotes Radio on @FightfulSelect has learned,” the report stated.
The rumors of tension between TKO and Reigns grew stronger after WWE removed the World Heavyweight Champion from several RAW events planned for June. Earlier advertisements had listed him for eight straight RAW appearances after WrestleMania 42. After winning at WrestleMania 42, Roman Reigns also told fans they would be seeing him more regularly on WWE TV again, which made the sudden schedule change stand out even more.
At the same time, Reigns has still been heavily involved in WWE programming recently. He is also set to defend the World Heavyweight title against Jacob Fatu at Backlash.
Because of all this, many fans assumed the removed appearances meant there were backstage problems with TKO. Some rumors even claimed the company wanted Reigns to restructure his contract because he works a lighter schedule than most full-time wrestlers.
But insiders have pushed back against those rumors. A new report even suggested that Reigns was removed from the events due to a “clerical error.” The report explained that Reigns was mistakenly advertised for dates he was never officially scheduled to work.
