Seth Rollins Reveals The Real Reason He Formed The Vision in WWE

Seth Rollins recently opened up about the reasoning behind creating The Vision.

The WWE landscape shifted on April 21, 2025 when Rollins introduced The Vision. The group originally featured Rollins alongside Bron Breakker with Paul Heyman serving as The Wiseman. The faction later expanded with the addition of Bronson Reed.

However, Rollins’ run with the faction came to an abrupt end after he was removed from the group following WWE Crown Jewel 2025. The angle coincided with a real-life shoulder injury Rollins suffered during his match against Cody Rhodes at the event, which led to WWE writing him off television.

Now preparing to face Breakker at WWE Backlash, Rollins sat down with Michael Cole to discuss the origins of The Vision.

“Maybe a little bit of insecurity. I looked at the landscape and I was starting to kind of pile up enemies. CM Punk, Roman Reigns, when you have Roman Reigns you have the entire Bloodline. So, there was a lot of people who were sort of eyeballing what I was doing and what I was saying. They didn’t like it.”

Seth Rollins explains his distrust for CM Punk and Roman Reigns

Rollins admitted he did not trust either CM Punk or Roman Reigns to lead WWE into the future and believed he was the right person to shape the company’s direction.

“I felt like at that stage, there were a lot of visions for what the future of the company could or would or should look like. To be honest with you, I just don’t trust Roman Reigns. I certainly don’t trust CM Punk. I don’t trust either of them to be kind of the figureheads and the leaders and so I felt like I was the best person suited for the job.”

The former world champion also explained that part of the motivation behind forming the faction was to mentor the next generation, which is why he chose Breakker.

“I felt like I was in a unique position where I had to kind of take care of those guys but then I needed to insulate myself on the backside of that. Also, I wanted to do this thing not just for me, but to pass it along to the next generation. For me, Bron Breakker was the perfect fit for that.”

Seth Rollins on bringing Paul Heyman into The Vision

Rollins also reflected on bringing Heyman into the group, admitting it ultimately turned out to be a mistake.

“The Paul Heyman aspect of that is a little more interesting. That was a mistake on my behalf. Paul’s been a thorn in my side for over a decade when he was the advocate for Brock Lesnar and when he was the wiseman for Roman Reigns. This is a guy who has always latched on to people that would give him power.”

He added that his alliance with Heyman was initially formed out of necessity.

“At some point, it became necessary for me to have him on my side so that I didn’t have to deal with him on the other side. It was one of those keep your friends close, enemies closer situation. There’s always been a mutual respect between myself and Paul, but we’ve never sort of stood on the same side of the sand. So, to have him on my side, I felt like I could control it a little better. I could handle him if I had him on my side and if our visions were aligned, it would be less for me to have deal with on the back end.”
