WATCH: Triple H Booed By Fans at WWE Backlash

Triple H gets booed heavily during the WWE Backlash pre-show.

WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque arrived at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida ahead of Backlash. Cameras caught The Game exiting his vehicle as he headed backstage.

However, fans watching his arrival reacted to the footage with a chorus of boos. Triple H’s reputation appears to have taken a hit, especially in the aftermath of Endeavor’s takeover of WWE. The Game was also booed when he appeared following John Cena’s retirement match in December 2025.

Fans may boo Triple H all they want, but that does not change the fact that he will continue steering WWE’s creative direction for the foreseeable future. Fightful Select recently reported that Levesque agreed to a new long-term contract extension.

During a TKO Group Holdings Town Hall in April, WWE President Nick Khan announced that Triple H had signed a new employment contract to remain WWE Chief Content Officer.

According to the report, it was “heavily implied” that Levesque signed a new long-term deal, though the terms were not disclosed. PWInsider also reported that Levesque signed a new agreement, with the outlet stating it was told the contract is a “multiple-year deal.” Exact details were not shared, but the deal is reportedly “possibly as long as three years” and was completed before WrestleMania weekend.

WrestleZone’s live coverage of WWE Backlash is happening here.
