The Rock Makes Huge Gesture for School Students After Viral Moana Tribute

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is once again winning fans over with a heartfelt gesture, this time for a group of school students in the UK whose Moana tribute video caught his attention online.

The Rock recently shared a fun and emotional video after watching students from St. Gregory Primary School in Sudbury, England, perform “You’re Welcome,” the popular song from Moana. Johnson famously sang the song as Maui in the original 2016 animated movie.

After seeing the students’ performance and energy, Johnson decided to surprise them. He personally invited the students, along with their families and friends, to a private screening of Disney’s upcoming live-action Moana movie on July 10, 2026.

In his social media post, Johnson shared the invitation in his own style, and of course with a Kevin Hart roast. He wrote-

“What can I say except ~ YOU’RE WELCOOOOME ?

To the awesome students at St. Gregory Primary School in Sudbury, UK I LOVED your video!!

You’re all my special guests to watch live action MOANA on JULY 10!

? Theater = rented out

??? Popcorn + candy + drinks = on me

?‍?‍?‍? Friends & family = bring ‘em all

I apologize to your parents in advance for all the sugar ??

Have so much FUN watching the movie, keep working hard in school and remember ~ you’re all taller than Kevin Hart.

~ Uncle Maui?”

Johnson is known to connect personally with his fans, especially with kids. Instead of simply reposting their video, he decided to send them a special invitation video himself.

The screening will occur alongside the release of Disney’s live-action Moana. The film is one of the company’s biggest movies planned for 2026. Johnson returns as Maui in the remake nearly 10 years after helping make the original animated film a worldwide hit.

The movie stars Catherine Lagaʻaia as Moana, while original Moana voice actress Auliʻi Cravalho has signed on to the project as an executive producer. The film is directed by Thomas Kail.
