New Details Emerge About WWE Star Ludwig Kaiser’s Arrest For Battery

Ludwig Kaiser was arrested after a heated incident saw him get into a physical altercation with another male in Florida.

The WWE star was arrested in relation to an April 23 incident at a residence in Orlando, Florida. According to police records, Kaiser (real name Marcel Barthel) was identified as a suspect who had battered a man outside of a 12th floor elevator. The victim observed Kaiser and an unidentified female “aggressively kissing” by the elevator. He said he asked them to “please have some manners,” but Kaiser responded by attacking him.

The responding officer’s written statement from the police report states:

“Upon arrival, I made contact with the complainant/victim, Richard Reap. Reap stated he was battered by an unknown white male just outside the elevator on the 12th floor. Reap advised that at approximately 1830 hours, he entered the elevator and was followed by an unknown white male and an unknown white female. Reap stated that as the elevator ascended, the male and female began acting in an “uncontrollably intimate” manner, which he described as aggressively kissing.

Reap stated that once the elevator reached the 12th floor, he exited the elevator and told the couple to “please have some manners.” Reap advised that immediately after making the statement, the unknown male began attacking him. Reap described the attack as the male punching him multiple times and pushing him to the ground. Reap further stated the male made threats of additional violence toward him.

Reap advised he believes the suspect is a resident of the apartment building and stated he wished to pursue criminal charges.”

Police identified Ludwig Kaiser as the suspect involved in the alleged battery

The responding officer observed a “large, fresh scratch on the back of Reap’s head, along with redness in the same area.” These details are “consistent with a recent physical altercation.”

Review of the on-site security footage showed a white male punching and shoving Reap at the same time of the reported incident. The investigation identified Barthel as a suspect. Based on these details, probable cause was established for the arrest of Barthel for simple battery.

The WWE star was only taken into custody on May 20 after he learned of the arrest warrant the day prior. Barthel was in Mexico working for AAA, but flew back to Orlando and turned himself in.

Barthel was booked and charged with one count of battery and later released on a $1,000 bond. He has been working as El Grande Americano for WWE and AAA. His last appearance on WWE TV came on the March 18 episode of RAW. There, he, Bravo and Rayo Americano competed in a six man tag team match in Greensboro, North Carolina.
