New Update on Ludwig Kaiser’s International Travel Request for WWE After Arrest

There’s an update on WWE star Ludwig Kaiser’s international travel request after his arrest.

WWE Superstar Ludwig Kaiser (real name Marcel Barthel) was arrested in Orange County, Florida, on May 20, 2026, on misdemeanor battery charges following an alleged altercation with his neighbor outside the 12th-floor elevator of his apartment complex on April 23. He had turned himself in and was released after posting a $1,000 bail.

According to Orange County court documents, Ludwig Kaiser’s attorney, Thomas D. Sommerville, submitted several filings. The motions filed included a written plea of not guilty and a request for out-of-state and international travel. Kaiser, who maintains his innocence, also asked for a trial, expressed his intent to participate in the discovery process, and to appear for all required court proceedings related to the allegations.

Now, there’s a new update on Ludwig Kaiser’s out-of-state and international travel request. His attorney filed a supplementary motion for the request, stating that the Assistant State Attorney did not object to the motion. He requested the court to enter an order allowing Kaiser to travel outside Florida and internationally for his work.

“Since the initial filing of the Motion to Travel, undersigned counsel communicated

with Assistant State Attorney Shaylynne Kotch, who indicated no objection to this motion.

WHEREFORE, for the foregoing reasons, the Defendant respectfully requests this

Honorable Court to enter an Order allowing him to travel out of the State of Florida and

internationally,” Ludwig Kaiser’s motion read.

Ludwig Kaiser has a big Mask vs. Mask match in AAA later this month

Ludwig Kaiser also portrays the El Grande Americano character in WWE and has become extremely popular in AAA. The promotion cancelled its Serenata for El Grande Americano event on May 21 following his arrest.

Kaiser’s set for a big Mask vs. Mask match against Chad Gable’s Original El Grande Americano at the Noche de Los Grandes event on May 31, and his participation in the show depends on the court passing the requested order.
