Several WWE-Linked Stars Unexpectedly Pulled From Upcoming Indie Event

Several WWE-linked talents have unexpectedly been removed from Dreamwave Wrestling’s upcoming All Star Weekend. This leaves the promotion scrambling to adjust multiple advertised matches just weeks before the event.

Dreamwave Wrestling announced the changes on social media (X). The promotion revealed that a WWE-related obligation will prevent several scheduled competitors from appearing at the June 19-20 weekend in LaSalle, Illinois.

The full nature of the obligation has not come to light. Nevertheless, the development has created a significant shake-up for one of the event’s featured attractions.

WWE ID Talent removed from Dreamwave All Star Weekend

According to Dreamwave Wrestling, Laynie Luck, Sloane Jacobs, Veronica Haven, and Anya Rune will no longer appear at All Star Weekend due to a “WWE contractual obligation” that the promotion said it was informed about recently.

The company wrote: “Due to a WWE contractual obligation that everyone was informed of today,” the four talents have been pulled from the event. Dreamwave also noted that “any matches already announced will be updated soon.”

The affected wrestlers are all connected to WWE’s Independent Development program, commonly known as WWE ID. The initiative allows select prospects to continue working independent dates while maintaining relationships with WWE. However, WWE commitments take priority whenever scheduling conflicts arise.

The timing becomes particularly notable because the quartet would have featured in Uprising: Women Athletes 8 on June 19. Their removal leaves a sizeable gap in a showcase event built around some of independent wrestling’s rising stars.

In a separate announcement, Dreamwave confirmed that Aminah Belmont will also miss All Star Weekend due to injury. The promotion wished Belmont a speedy recovery, making it clear her absence is unrelated to the WWE situation.

For Dreamwave, the news is a tough booking bump in the road. Still, the promotion is actively working to revise the card ahead of After Dark Wrestling’s “Walk Of Shame” and the flagship Eve of Destruction event on June 20.

With announcements about replacements expected soon, attention now turns to how Dreamwave reshapes one of its biggest weekends of the year.
