The fallout from Tessa Blanchard’s latest departure from TNA Wrestling continues to spark discussion, but one longtime company figure is pushing back against claims about her role in the situation.
Following renewed online criticism, Gail Kim has publicly addressed allegations that she campaigned for Blanchard’s return to the promotion.
Blanchard recently exited TNA after reportedly requesting and receiving her release, bringing an end to her second run with the company. As fans revisited the circumstances surrounding her return, Kim found herself drawn into the conversation.

The debate began when a fan accused Kim of strongly advocating for Blanchard’s comeback despite the controversy that surrounded her previous departure.
Kim quickly rejected that claim and explained that her involvement was being misrepresented.
“Wrong. I never advocated for her,” Kim wrote on X. “I just didn’t fight giving her a second chance to everyone who wanted to bring her in.”
The TNA Hall of Famer also stressed that decisions involving the Knockouts division were not solely hers to make.
“Not every decision around the KO division was made by me just so everyone is clear on that,” Kim stated. “I was TR and a producer. I never did creative either.”
Kim later further clarified her position, writing, “Being part of a process bc it was my job is different from advocating hard.”
Blanchard’s departure comes amid reports that complications involving her work with CMLL contributed to the split.
According to reports, TNA was unhappy with her continued appearances for the Mexican promotion due to business relationships involving WWE, AAA, and CMLL. While unconfirmed, speculation suggests Blanchard was ultimately forced to choose between the promotions.
Her second stint in TNA was already met with scrutiny from some fans due to controversies surrounding her first run. Now, with Blanchard once again gone from the company, Kim has made it clear she doesn’t want responsibility pinned on her for a decision she says she never actively pushed.
For now, Blanchard’s future remains uncertain, but the conversation surrounding her TNA return clearly hasn’t left the ring.
