Conor McGregor addressed his WWE future after trolling Roman Reigns over UFC White House appearance.
The OTC attended UFC Freedom 250 at the White House on June 14. His appearance was highlighted by TKO Group’s social media accounts, prompting McGregor to react with a dismissive “Who?” when Reigns was mentioned online.
Speaking about the possibility of eventually stepping into a WWE ring, McGregor remained noncommittal. He described WWE and combat sports as separate platforms with their own performers and argued that any crossover would need to be established in the eyes of the public first.
“Don’t know, bro. Don’t know. ‘Cause it’s a platform, but it’s its own combatants. You know, and then you’re like, ‘Put them next to these guys. Put that guy next to these guys. What’s up? Who the f*** are you? What’s up?'” McGregor said.
The former UFC Champion suggested that any crossover between himself and WWE would need to be built organically through interactions and storytelling before fans could become invested in a potential match.
“You gotta let it be seen by the public. Then we have something to look forward to on our side. Bouts to look forward to, guys to look forward to. Remember, these guys clash here and there, etc., etc. It builds the story and all the rest of it.”
McGregor’s latest comments are far from the first time he has trolled WWE stars. In 2016, the former UFC champion sparked backlash from WWE fans after calling performers “pu**ies” and later claiming on social media that he would “slap the head off” the entire roster. Reigns fired back on social media, telling McGregor to “shut your mouth” and remarking that the Irishman was “the size of my leg.”
