Jack Cartwheel has finally opened up about the serious injury that brought his momentum to a sudden halt earlier this year.
The former WWE ID prospect shared graphic images and details of the setback, shedding light on the painful road that has kept him out of action since WrestleMania week.
While Cartwheel remains determined to return, the extent of the injury reveals just how close he came to a much longer absence from the ring.
Jack Cartwheel details severe elbow injury and recovery progress
On June 18, Cartwheel posted scanned images of his injured elbow on social media (X) and reflected on the ordeal.
“GRAPHIC WARNING. 2 months ago I dislocated my elbow. One of the most painful feelings I’ve ever experienced. Physically and Mentally,” he wrote. “It sucks to not Cartwheel, to be so close to my dreams and be forced to take a pause. But I’m coming back to regain everything I’ve lost.”
The injury occurred on April 17 during his match against Galeno Del Mal at GCW’s The Wrld On Lucha event in Las Vegas. According to Cartwheel, his foot slipped while attempting a springboard Phoenix Splash from the top rope.
The result was a gruesome dislocated elbow that immediately stopped the match. Cartwheel later described looking down at his arm and seeing his forearm completely out of place, calling it a “bone-chilling” moment.
Medical examinations revealed a dislocated elbow, a torn Ulnar Collateral Ligament, a torn Lateral Ulnar Collateral Ligament, and a torn extensor tendon.
Fortunately, the news wasn’t all bad.
Speaking earlier this month, Cartwheel confirmed that he will not require surgery. His bicep and tricep remained intact, allowing doctors to move forward with a rehabilitation plan involving a progressive arm brace.
“I’ve been very lucky to not need surgery on the dislocated elbow,” Cartwheel said. “The great news is that I don’t need surgery.”
The high-flying star added that he expects to return in less than six months. For a wrestler whose style is built around risk and rotation, that’s a welcome bounce-back. For now, the cartwheel is on pause — but not for long.
