TNA Wrestling is reportedly interested in bringing in a former WWE Intercontinental Champion.
WrestleVotes Radio (via Fightful Select) is reporting that they’ve heard chatter about TNA Wrestling being interested in former WWE Intercontinental and United States Champion Apollo Crews. WWE released Crews, along with several other superstars, as part of the post-WrestleMania 42 talent cut in April. He was with the promotion for 11 years.
The report notes that the situation remains unclear following the recent changes in TNA, including the departures of Tommy Dreamer, Sami Callihan, and others. However, sources noted there were internal discussions about signing Apollo Crews later this year when he becomes available.
At the Slammiversary pay-per-view this Sunday, Mustafa Ali is scheduled to defend the TNA International Championship against a mystery opponent. While the talks might point towards Apollo Crews being the one to challenge him at the event, the report notes that the exact status of Crews’ non-compete period following his WWE exit is unknown. However, it has not crossed the standard 90-day mark as of this writing.
Apollo Crews’ last in-ring appearance came in a match against Mr. Iguana on the April 23, 2026, episode of WWE Main Event. It will be interesting to see if the former Intercontinental Champion signs with TNA Wrestling once his non-compete period ends.
