Taylor Swift Helped WWE Hall of Famer’s Kids Through His Wife’s Death

WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett has shared a touching story about Taylor Swift’s role in helping his family through one of the most difficult periods of their lives.

Looking back on the experience, Jarrett explained how a friendship that began during his late wife’s illness became a lasting source of comfort for his daughters.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, the AEW star reflected on the bond Swift formed with his family while his first wife, Jill, was battling cancer.

What started as a simple visit soon became much more than a one-off performance.

Jeff Jarrett reveals how Taylor Swift became a family friend

Jarrett explained that Swift’s family had moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee, where she attended the same high school as his children. Around Christmas, while Swift was beginning her music career, a mutual friend suggested she visit the Jarrett family.

“My first wife, Jill, had gotten real sick,” Jarrett recalled. “A friend of a friend asked her to come over and play for the girls and my wife.”

According to Jarrett, what was expected to be a brief visit quickly turned into a memorable gathering. “Taylor just kept playing. I’ve said this, it turned into a couple-hour concert. She played everything, but that’s when the girls and her bonded.”

After Jill passed away a few months later, Swift continued checking in on the family. Jarrett said she would regularly call and ask, “Hey, what are the girls doing this afternoon? I’d like to come over and make cookies. I’d like to just spend time with them.”

Jarrett stressed that Swift was never a paid babysitter despite the long-running story. “She just became what you call a family friend, so I can officially say she’s never been on the Jarrett payroll. She never had a paid gig as a babysitter, but very, very good to the girls.”

The story offers a different side of one of music’s biggest stars. For Jarrett’s family, Swift didn’t just hit the right notes on the guitar — she struck a chord when they needed kindness the most.
