Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Allegedly Had Assistant Carry His Sneakers Backstage During WWE Visit

Sean “Diddy” Combs made several memorable appearances in WWE over the years, but former WWE Superstar Chris Masters says the rapper wasn’t very popular backstage.

Diddy performed at WWE Tribute to the Troops in 2010 before returning for WrestleMania 28 in 2012, where he introduced Machine Gun Kelly. A year later, he performed at WrestleMania 29, and his song Coming Home was one of the event’s official theme songs. Diddy also appeared on RAW in 2016 to help promote WWE 2K17.

To fans watching at home, Sean Combs was another major celebrity appearing on WWE. But according to Masters, some people backstage remembered something very different.

Chris Masters recalls Sean “Diddy” Combs’ backstage reputation

Speaking on TMZ’s Inside The Ring podcast, Masters shared a story about Diddy’s behavior during his visits to WWE. Masters revealed many wrestlers felt Diddy acted like he was above everyone else.

“He just made a bad impression on the boys because everybody just thought he was so full of himself kind of,” he said.

According to Masters, Diddy had a very rare and expensive pair of sneakers, and had an assistant carry them around all day on a small pillow.

“Diddy apparently had gotten some really exclusive rare, I don’t know if it was Jordan’s or something, but he had his assistant carrying it around on like this fluff pillow just trailing behind him the whole day,” Masters said.

Masters said that many WWE wrestlers thought the whole thing was over the top.

“You know, say what you wanted about wrestlers, but, I mean, you know, to them that just came out, that was a bit too much,” he added.

However, Masters also admitted that the sneakerhead part of him kind of liked what Diddy did, although it was a bit too much.

Whether that story reflects the feelings of the entire locker room or just what Masters heard at the time is impossible to know. Still, it has become another interesting behind-the-scenes story about a celebrity’s time in WWE.
