WWE Files Trademark for Baron Corbin’s Nickname Amid Return Rumors

WWE may have trademarked a new moniker that has been associated with Baron Corbin‘s independent wrestling run.

According to WrestlePurists, WWE recently filed to trademark “The Nomad.” Corbin has used this nickname during his time on the independent scene under the name Bishop Dyer.

Rumors about a potential WWE return for Corbin have picked up steam recently. His WWE contract expired on November 1, 2024, and the company opted not to renew his deal. Following his departure, Corbin entered the independent wrestling scene in 2025 and eventually adopted the Bishop Dyer name.

During his time away from WWE, Dyer has competed for promotions including GCW and MLW. He also captured the MLW World Tag Team Championship alongside Dijak.

Speculation about Corbin’s future increased after MLW owner Court Bauer recently revealed that the promotion and Dyer had reached a difficult point in contract negotiations. While no deal between Corbin and WWE has been confirmed, the trademark filing has added further fuel to speculation about a possible return.

As of this writing, WWE has not announced any plans about Corbin’s return or confirmed whether “The Nomad” will become part of his character if he returns to the company.
