Ashley D’Amboise is officially preparing to lace up her boots again after a lengthy absence from professional wrestling.
The former AEW and ROH talent is set to make her long-awaited in-ring return this weekend, closing the chapter on a challenging period that included injuries and time away from the business.
While the comeback has now been confirmed, the road back to the squared circle has been anything but straightforward.
Ashley D’Amboise returns at CCW Game of War after lengthy hiatus
Coastal Championship Wrestling (CCW) announced that D’Amboise will return to action at Game of War on Saturday, July 25. She is scheduled to face Sara Wilder in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Promoting the event, CCW wrote on X:
“GUESS WHO’S BACK!!! For the first time in nearly 2 years, Ashley D’Amboise returns to the ring as she takes on Sara Wilder at #CCWGAMEOFWAR!”
The bout will mark D’Amboise’s first match since August 2024. A year ago, she revealed that she had stepped away from professional wrestling after a difficult stretch in her career.
Much of that absence stemmed from a serious ankle injury suffered in June 2023 during a three-way match in France. The recovery proved especially difficult because of delayed healing, forcing D’Amboise to spend an extended period in a walking boot while using an accelerated bone stimulator to aid her rehabilitation.
After roughly seven months on the sidelines, D’Amboise briefly returned to competition. However, she wrestled only six matches — including one in ROH — before stepping away from wrestling following her final bout in August 2024.
The former AEW developmental talent had previously spoken about the mental challenges of the injury. She revealed that watching others compete while she recovered was as difficult as the physical rehabilitation itself.
Now, nearly two years after her last appearance, D’Amboise has another opportunity to restart her career. Whether this marks the beginning of a sustained comeback remains to be seen, but Game of War offers a fresh starting point. Sometimes the toughest part isn’t taking a bump — it’s making the walk back through the curtain.
