Sheamus is one title away from a major milestone, but has no regrets about missing out on it in his WWE career.
Speaking to Adam’s Apple while exiting an airport, Sheamus was asked about never winning WWE‘s Intercontinental Championship. Throughout his career, Sheamus has won pretty much every other accolade you can win, but was always an IC title shy of becoming an “Ultimate Grand Slam” Champion. The star even lamented over having the most unsuccessful attempts to win the title earlier this month.
Despite this, though, Sheamus has no regrets about never achieving the feat, saying “I’ve had an amazing career, fella. No regrets. I mean it, no regrets.”
Sheamus Names His Biggest Breakout Match
The star did open up about what one of his biggest breakout matches was, pointing to a match against John Morrison in 2010 at WWE’s TLC pay-per-view as a match that changed everything.
“I think there was one really important match for me after I got away from a lot of the top guys,” Sheamus said. “It was the TLC match with John Morrison in 2010, December at the TLC pay-per-view. Sorry, it was the ladder match at the TLC pay-per-view in 2010. And it was just two of us trying to break that glass ceiling, and me and Morrison had great chemistry. I was more of a hard-hitting bruiser guy, and John obviously was very, very talented, incredible athlete Morrison still is. But if you guys go back and watch that match, it’s awesome. One of my favorite ones. We just beat the absolute shite out of each other.”
For now, anyway, Sheamus will have departed WWE without the distinction. His wrestling future remains uncertain as well, as he departed WWE earlier this month and has no new updates as of yet.
