Several Big Injuries Over The Weekend, Coach/SD!

During Ring of Honorâs pay-per-view taping this past Saturday night in New York City, ROH Champion Nigel McGuiness broke his nose, suffered a concussion, and needed 14 internal and external stitches after he smashed his face on the guard rail. While there is talk that he may take some time off, he worked last nightâs Final Battle show in New York City, cutting a promo about his match the night before.

Bryan Danielson and Rocky Romero also suffered concussions at Ring of Honorâs pay-per-view taping in New York City.

Speaking of Bryan Danielson he will get a ROH title shot at the Ring of Honor event on February 23rd in New York City after winning last nightâs four way main event that featured Chris Hero, Austin Aries, and Takeshi Morishima.

As noted earlier, Jonathan Coachman will replace JBL as a color commentator on SmackDown. One would assume that this means that Coachman is finished as an on-screen character on RAW.

There are plans in place for WWE to release DVDs on “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Sting in 2008. The Savage DVD is tentatively titled “Randy Savage: Macho Madness” and is scheduled to be released on November 18, 2008. The Sting DVD is scheduled to be released on December 9, 2008. WWE also plans on releasing DVDs on Steve Austin (2/12), Triple H (3/25), The Hardy Boys (5/6), The Rock (6/3), Best of StarrCade (7/8), 20-disc SummerSlam Anthology set (8/5), “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig (8/5), and Edge (11/4).

The Sting and Randy Savage DVDs will be especially interesting as it will be the first time that the company has ever done anything on them. If Sting does agree to terms on a new TNA contract (which he is expected to do) it will be interesting to see if WWE still decides to release the DVD.
