In an update to the story on WWE replacing John Bradshaw Layfield in the SmackDown! announcing booth, WrestlingObserver.com now reports that a decision will be made as early as tomorrow.
Kevin Dunn reportedly developed a very short list of those he felt did well in tryouts; Michael Hayes is supposedly one of the names on the list.
There is definite interest in giving Hayes the SmackDown! color commentary gig, but fear that he will not be able to successfully juggle his creative duties could be the thing that nixes the idea.
Some outside names are also under consideration, says the Observer report.
