Impact Wrestling Results (2/23) – Brandon Jacobs Confronts Bully Ray, Sting Addresses “I’m Done” Comments, Announces Victory Road Match

Brandon Jacobs (NY Giants) comes out to the ring and says he is fresh off of a Super Bowl victory, and he came here there to support James Storm last week. Storm beat Bully Ray and had a beer with Jacobs, but he may have stepped into a bad spot when he hopped the rail. Jacobs says he didn't like when Bully spit in his face, so he is back one more time to finish their business and tells him to come out and face him without someone holding him back. Bully Ray comes out and tells him to settle down, and he says there is nothing he would like to do more than beat up a Super Bowl champion but he won't. Bully says he has an important tag match tonight and he doesn't want to waste his time, but Jacobs says he will come to him and ends up chasing him to the back as we go to a break.

Zema Ion vs Alex Shelley

Zema dropkicks Shelley during his entrance, then hits a missile dropkick in the ring and uses his hairspray while Austin Aries comes out with popcorn and wine. Shelley comes back with a springboard splash for two, then hiptosses Zema and catches him with a drop toe hold in the corner. He tries to spring outside but Zema pulls his legs and Shelley hits the apron face first, then Zema pulls him in the ring and applies an armbar. Shelley gets to the ropes to break the hold, and he comes back with a leg whip and an enziguiri before he knocks Zema out of the ring and connects with a suicide dive. Zema puts his hair spray can in his tights, then counters a Sliced Bread attempt by shoving Shelley towards the ref in the corner. Shelley stops in time, but Zema shoots the hair spray in Shelley's eyes and pins him after a snapmare driver and a Bible Black knee smash.

Winner – Zema Ion

Garret Bischoff is backstage and he says nothing his father does is going to get him to quit, because he is going to realize his dream and continue to fight. Hulk Hogan walks over and says he knows he would say that, but he has a huge bullseye on his back and he doesn't have anything to prove. Hulk says his father will make his life hell, and he just wants him to know he doesn't need to prove anything but someone will try to take him out for good. We move to Madison Rayne talking about her relationship with Gail Kim, and she says got in the Knockouts battle royal because she wanted to help her friend. Madison says she wanted to be good competition for Gail because she is a champion, and she also says he is glad Sting may be done with the company.
