Why CM Punk Wasn’t Buried On Raw, ESPN Not Interested In WWE TV Programming, Latest WWE Inbox w/ Summer Rae

We reported yesterday that WWE scrapped several RAW segments mentioning CM Punk, including a Bad News Barrett promo. PWInsider followed up on that story with a new report claiming Vince McMahon decided not to bury Punk in Chicago because he's still hopeful Punk will return.

CM Punk still makes WWE a lot of money in terms of merchandise, plus WWE has invested a lot of time and money into the former star, so Vince doesn't want to burn that bridge if there's any chance he could come back. And while it's being said Vince didn't want to bury the hometown hero, some are less optimistic about how Triple H feels about the subject. As Hunter gains more power behind the scenes, some believe Punk's leverage for a return on his own terms could start diminishing.

Jim Ross wrote in a recent blog that he wouldn't be surprised if Punk returned for WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans, although he is fearful that ship may have passed.

ESPN Not Interested In WWE

While the bidding for WWE TV rights continue, F4WOnline.com is reporting that ESPN is not one of the interested parties. Some people in ESPN — most likely fans of the product — would like to see WWE to brought to the sports network powerhouse, but it's being said that no one in upper management who could actually make those decisions are interested.
