-Charlotte comes out with the NXT Women’s Championship. She gives some respect to Sasha Banks, calling her the toughest Diva she’s ever had to face, but rejects the idea of another match because she’s already beaten her twice. Banks come out and says none of that stuff matters. She rushes the ring with Becky Lynch, looking for a fight, but Natalya’s music queues from out of nowhere and she comes down to even the odds. Charlotte and Natalya back them off, and the heels retreat up the ramp.
-They are running a lot of “NXT is coming to Wednesday” promos featuring the various stars.
HIDEO ITAMI & FINN BALOR vs. THE ASCENSION
Pretty similar to their match at Takeover, but with brief commercial breaks a bit shorter. Alex Riley is trying to convince us that Balor and Finn are nothing until they come through NXT, which is hilarious. It would be less hilarious if he wasn’t praising the Ascension as an established team of proven wrestlers at the same time.
It’s actually Finn that works most of the match getting the hell beat out of him by the heels. Eventually he makes his way out of a full nelson and…runs into a double team again. Hideo makes the hot tag after a few more minutes of double team moves, and lands a dozen kicks to the chest of Viktor. He turns him inside-out with a running knee strike. He comes off the top rope with a tilt-the-whirl DDT into the ropes, then follows up with a flying lariat for two. Hideo turns around into an STO from the other Ascension member, and everyone is down. The faces ralley and Itami teases the GTS but gets attacked again. Balor comes back with a spinning neckbreaker and a double foot stomp to the outside on one of them. Hideo with the Tajiri Buzzsaw Kick on the other for the 1-2-3.
Winners: HIDEO ITAMI & FINN BALOR
