Isenberg Reacts: Impact Wrestling “Angle Equals Money”

Awesome Kong vs. Gail Kim

impact wrestlingKong controls with her power, hitting some big clotheslines and body slams. Gail is able to kick her a few times in the corner and then Kong rips off the turnbuckle. Kong throws Kim on the outside and Gail follows back with a dropkick to her stomach. Both Knockouts get into the ring and Kim controls to try and kick her. Kim hits a cross body from the top and gets a two count. Kim tries Eat Defeat and Kong misses a splash into the corner. Kim rolls her up and gets a two count. Kim hits Eat Defeat and Kong kicks out again.

The two women continue to battle and Kim fights back into the match. Kong traps Gail on the top and then tries to hit a Powerbomb, which she does to pick up the win.

TNA does such a great job at building these women and a very good division. It is almost impossible for anyone to look like she can beat Kong, but it worked tonight. You have to book Kim in a faster and quicker fashion, almost like a lumberjack trying to chop down a massive tree. Kim and Kong delivered tonight in a really competitive match, one that never seemed to slow down. You can always count on women’s wrestling to deliver on Impact.

James Storm Unleashes

James Storm blames his members of The Revolution for their failures, including putting them in the match to see who survives. Abyss controls the match and Manik tries to hit him with a chair. Abyss blocks it and then gets kicked in the face. Koya begins to hit a piece of wood on Abyss and Manik until he hits a big powerbomb to join James Storm next week in a tag team.

It was surprising to see Koya pick up the win because everyone was expecting the same old Abyss. No bash on Abyss, but new blood and a fresh guy with Storm is always something that helps evolve a stable. I liked this call, even though the match was a little quick and just very scrambled.
