EXCLUSIVE: More Details Behind Russo & TNA’s Creative Team

WrestleZone exclusively reported earlier today that former WWE and WCW creative team member Ed Ferrara will be making his debut as a TNA creative team member starting at tonight’s No Surrender PPV.

According to a source I spoke with ealier today, one of the reasons that Jim Cornette may have been released from TNA is because the company decided to bring in Ed Ferrara. Cornette and Ferrara have a notoriously bad relationship, stemming from events that took place when Ferrara worked for WCW.

Ferrara, who is best known for playing an infamous on-air character in WCW named Oklahoma, which made fun of Jim Ross and his Bells Palsy, left WWE back in 1999 and began working for WCW immediately thereafter. He worked with WCW as a creative team member and a road agent until the company folded. Jim Cornette reportedly once spit in the face of Ferrara for making fun of Jim Ross, who is a close friend of Cornette’s.

Additionally, WrestleZone has learned that while nothing has been set in stone, there is talk within TNA right now of setting certain ratings goals for both Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara. The two would then have to achieve those goals in order to remain on board with TNA and the creative team. Again, this has just been talked about, and is not in effect at this time. We will keep you posted as we learn more details.
