Tommy Dreamer is out. Is Road Dogg in?
Dreamer has served as a producer and agent in TNA for nearly a decade. More recently, he was part of the creative team, but he announced that his tenure with the company has come to an end. During Wednesday’s episode of Busted Open Radio, an emotional Dreamer announced that he was mutually parting ways with TNA. He said the decision came after an honest conversation with TNA President Carlos Silva, and that his departure was effective immediately.
A new update from Fightful (via Fightful Select) suggests a familiar name has been discussed as a possible replacement for Dreamer.
TNA may be eyeing Road Dogg for a creative role
Following the announcement, industry sources reached out to Fightful and shared that Road Dogg has been discussed internally by TNA as a potential replacement for Dreamer. Road Dogg stepped down from his role as co-lead writer of WWE SmackDown earlier this year. He later said that he left because he felt like WWE didn’t need him anymore.
Fightful did not share any details about whether Road Dogg has been contacted by TNA. The outlet did state that some TNA sources said they knew Dreamer’s exit was coming. However, they thought it would happen after the company’s Slammiversary pay-per-view.
Despite the rumors about Road Dogg’s future, Hunter Johnston (aka Delirious) will remain with TNA in his creative role.
TNA Slammiversary is set to take place on Sunday, June 28 at the Agganis Arena in Boston.
