Toni Storm dressed like Carmen Sandiego on AEW Grand Slam Mexico in the Arena Mexico, surprising fans with her creative tribute.
The moment came right after Mercedes Moné defeated Zeuxis to become the new CMLL World Women’s Champion. Moné now holds a total of six championships. However, Moné’s celebration was cut short by her AEW All In: Texas opponent, Toni Storm.
Storm appeared in a film noir-style video package, walking through the streets of Mexico City while delivering a monologue in a detective-style outfit. Staying in her “Timeless” character, Storm wore an outfit inspired by Carmen Sandiego.
This was revealed when she appeared behind Mercedes Moné in gear resembling the iconic character after the video package ended. Carmen Sandiego is a fictional character and the central figure of a long-running educational franchise that includes video games and TV shows.
The character is known for her red coat and hat, she became an icon through the various entries in the franchise, including a Netflix reboot series. The AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm channeled this look during her surprise attack on Mercedes Moné.

The butt straps aren’t something only Mariah May or Toni Storm wear. It has become a popular choice among female wrestlers in recent years.
In an interview with MuscleManMalcolm, Toni Storm talked about the night she dressed and acted like former AEW star Mariah May. When asked how the crowd reacted to her impersonation. She said, “You just liked it because I was wearing those little butt strap things. Yes? No, I loved it. Gave me a nice boost. It was a very empowering moment.”
