Ricochet addresses the quality of his matches in WWE.
Prior to joining All Elite Wrestling, Ricochet spent six years in WWE, with runs as WWE United States, Intercontinental, and Speed Champion. In between the success, though, Ricochet believes most of his matches in WWE were sub-par. Ricochet cited time restraints and other factors that often hindered him.
“Sh*t, most of them did [suck],” Ricochet wrote on Twitter/X. “But how you gonna have a good match in a 3 minutes, 1 segment match, with entrances and I gotta put the other guy over cause I make people look better than they actually are? Of course that’s gonna suck.”
Ricochet’s statement comes in response to an Twitter/X user questioning the seemingly negative response to the two AEW world title matches (AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm vs. Athena and AEW World Champion Adam Page vs. MJF) from AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. To that, Ricochet explained that “Because it wasn’t on WWE. legit that’s the only reason.”
In response, another user warned that tribalists would bombard Ricochet with claims that his matches in WWE “sucked,” hence Ricochet’s aforementioned comment.
Currently, Ricochet resides in AEW, with Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun by his side as allies. At Forbidden Door, the three attacked The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin) during their AEW World Tag Team Championship match, seemingly kicking off a feud between the two groups. Prior to this, Ricochet notably set his sights on the now-former AEW International Championship.
