What happened on WWE NXT this week?

This week’s show kicked off with a promo from NXT Champion Oba Femi. He’s interrupted by Ricky Saints, who is looking for a rematch to reclaim his title. They are interrupted by Je’Von Evans, who said he didn’t want to wait till New Year’s Evil to cash in his Iron Survivor Challenge win and wanted his title shot tonight.

Kelani Jordan defeated Jordynne Grace in women’s action.

Elsewhere on the show, Shiloh Hill made his NXT in-ring debut with a victory over Lexis King.

In the main event of the evening, Oba Femi defeated Je’Von Evans to retain the NXT Championship thanks to an assist from Ricky Saints.

WWE NXT Review:

NXT churned out an uneven show with a mix of ok to excellent matches and one overly verbose promo. The Saints heel turn is the right direction for the Absolute One, but how we got there didn’t do upstart Je’Von Evans any favors and throws the New Year’s Evil main event into doubt. No disrespect to the people in the fatal four-way to crown a new number one contender, but Femi vs. Evans is and always will be a money match. It’s odd to give it away on NXT TV.
