WWE NXT Results:

As Joe Hendry‘s music plays, he doesn’t appear. The camera switches to backstage and Joe Hendry is laid out and his opponet tonight, Jackson Drake and the rest of the Vanity Project are standing over Hendry. NXT GM Ava blames Drake and his cronies. Drake is holding a chair, but claims they didn’t do anyting and they found him like this. Ava yells for medical and says they are going to have to move some stuff around. Ava is informed that Tony D’Angelo has arrived. In the parking lot, D’Angelo is walking into the building flanked by security.

Ricky Saints was at the commentary desk, but decides to leave. He isn’t here to call a tag team title match.

NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Darkstate (Osiris Griffin and Saquon Shugars) (c) vs. OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price)

Price and Nima clear the ring. Backstage, Hank and Tank are watching the match. Griffin manages to take over on Nima. Shugars and Griffin try a double-team, but Nima manages to slam both men. Winner and STILL NXT Tag Team Champions, DarkState!

After the match, everyone brawls. Chase U joins the frey. Back in the ring, The Culling lays out all of DarkState.

Grade: B-

Price and Nima are coming along as a hoss team. This writer wasn’t sure what they would look like against DarkState, but this match was better than expected. The brawl after the fact was more of the same. NXT loves their divisional brawls.

Jaida Parker vs. Nikkita Lyons

Parker is in control early. Lyons floors Parker with a high kick. Lyons works over Parker. Parker fires up, and both women trade strikes. Lyons gets hung up in the ropes. Teardrop hip attack by Parker. Parker hits Hypnotiq and finishes Lyons with Deju Vu for the win.

Winner- Jaida Parker

After the match, Blake Monroe appears on the ‘Tron. Monroe says no one takes the spotlight from her. Parker tells Monroe she knows where to find her.

Grade: C

This one was weird. Lots of strikes and a bit of stumbling from Lyons. Odd stuff. Parker adopting a new finish makes sense, but Hypnotiq may be more impactful than that modified short powerbomb she landed to finish off Lyons tonight.

NXT Championship Ladder Match Qualifier: Dion Lennox vs. Myles Borne

Borne lands a dropkick. Lennox sends Borne into the corner and lands a clothesline. Borne and Lennox trade pin attempts. Lennox and Borne keep throwing each other into the corners, landing offense. Borne sends Lennox into the turnbuckle for the 58536585th time. Lennox explodes off the ropes and lands a lariat.

The fight spills out of the ring. Borne sends Lennox into the ring steps. North American Champion Ethan Page walks down to ringside and cheers Borne on. After the break, Page slides in the NA championship and distracts the referee. Borne looks as if he’s going to use it, but Lennox hits a Michinoku driver for the win.

Winner- Dion Lennox

After the match, Page yells at Borne. Borne hits Page with the NA Championship.

Grade: C

This match has to hold the record for whips into the corner. This wasn’t fun to watch on any level, which is a shame. Both these guys have talent. It didn’t come together tonight. If this writer never sees another whip to the corner…

Tavion Heights vs. Lexis King

Heights tosses King all over the ring. King trips Heights, causging Height to fall through the ropes. King sends Heights into the barricade. Stacks and Grace walk down to ringside to watch the match. King avoids a slingshot from Heights. King hits the Corenation for the win.

Winner- Lexis King

Grade: C+

Solid TV match. If they are actually going to do something with King, this is a good first step.

Zaria vs. Thea Hail

The Women’s North American Champion, Izzi Dame, is at the commentary desk. In the ring, Hail immediately attempts the Kimura. Zaria tosses Hail away. Zaria catches Hail with a big boot. After the break, Hail fires up and finally locks in the Kimura. Zaria stands out of the hold and flips Hail to the mat. Zaria Spears Hail. Hail counters the F5 with a DDT. Tatam Paxley spawns and attacks Dame. Dame runs through the ring, and Paxley gives chase. In the confusion, Hail rolls out Zaria for the win.

Winner- Thea Hail

After the match, Hail offers Zaria a handshake. Zaria slaps Hail’s hand away. Henley and Reid from Fatal Influence walk to the ring. Hail mistakenly touches Zaria’s shoulder to let her know they can stand together. Zaria goes nuts and drops Hail with an F5. Fatal Influence runs off.

Grade: C+

Solid match that didn’t need a screwy finish.

NXT Championship Ladder Match Qualifier: Keanu Carver vs. Andre Chase

Chase charges in with a big boot that Carver shrugs off. Chase goes up top. Carver tosses Chase to the floor. Carver rips off Chase’s protective facemask and slams his head into the apron. Chase is clutching at his face. Carver focuses all his offense on smashing Chase’s face in. Chase fires up and lands a crossbody for a near fall. The fight spills out of the ring. Chase tackles Carver over the commentary desk. Chase stands on the desk and celebrates. Carver leaps onto the desk and suplexes Chase onto it. Carver bring Chase back into the ring and hits a modified slam for the win.

Winner- Keanu Carver

After the match, Carver stomps Chase’s face into the ring steps.

After the break, all of the competitors in the ladder match next week are in the ring. Rickyt Saints comes out with a ladder. A brawl breaks out. Carver clears the ring. Saints hits Carver with the ladder. Saints climbs the ladder. Joe Hendry’s music hits. Hendry appears and lays out Saints with a Standing Ovation. As Hendry celebrates, Carver rolls in and drops Hendry with his finish.

Grade: B-

Good first showing from Carver. He looks like a beast, but this match took entirely too long. Carver should have ended this in under a minute. Again with the brawls. This is literally the laziest way to build to a match.
