A new report suggests that those within WWE have a pretty high opinion of current NXT Champion Oba Femi.
The Ruler of NXT, Oba Femi, has made his presence felt on the WWE main roster this month after appearing on back-to-back nights of SmackDown and Saturday Night’s Main Event. Femi would compete against Cody Rhodes in a Champion vs. Champion match that was ultimately ruined by Drew McIntyre. Luckily, it appears WWE officials saw everything they needed to see in those two appearances.
According to a new report on BodySlam+, WWE officials were “unbelievably impressed” by Femi’s main roster appearances earlier this month. So much so that they already view him on par with RAW Superstar Bron Breakker.
Much like newly announced “free agents” Je’Von Evans and Trick Williams, Femi is expected to be called up to the main roster very soon.
Will Oba Femi be called up to the WWE main roster as NXT Champion?
Despite still being NXT Champion, a vignette for Femi aired Friday night on SmackDown, seemingly hyping The Ruler’s eventual arrival to the main roster sooner rather than later. Femi is scheduled to defend the NXT Championship at New Year’s Evil against current TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater.
While it’s very unlikely that the company would put NXT’s main championship on a TNA talent, stranger things have happened. So we’ll find out soon enough.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
