Dominik Mysterio Explains Why Finn Balor Was Kicked Out of Judgment Day

Dominik Mysterio recently explained why Finn Balor was removed from The Judgment Day.

Tension had been building inside the group for over a year, especially between Mysterio and Balor. Earlier this week on WWE RAW, Mysterio joined Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and JD McDonagh in attacking Balor, officially removing him from the faction.

During an interview with Brad Gilmore on The Collection, Mysterio said Balor had a good run with the group but claimed the decision had to be made. He said, “It has been a good run for my old pal Finn Balor. It had to be done.”

He explained that the Judgment Day was no longer working well together. “There were a lot of differences going on, we weren’t being a cohesive unit, and at the end of the day, we played the Finn Balor playbook. That’s what happened. He should have seen it coming.”

He also said he was happy that McDonagh was the one who made the final move. “But I’m just happy that, at the end of the day, it was my boy JD McDonagh that pulled the trigger. Because I know JD and Finn have their history. But I’m so happy for JD for finally being able to leave Finn’s shadow.”

Dominik Mysterio addresses claims of leading Judgment Day

When asked if he is now the leader of Judgment Day after Bálor’s exit, Mysterio said, “I don’t know about the leader, but that’s what they say, allegedly.” Mysterio also looked back at how the group worked when it first formed with Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest after Edge’s was kicked out.

“I fought it for a long time. I wasn’t… it just felt weird and hokey at the very beginning of it. But something happened where all four of us (Mysterio, Ripley, Priest and Balor) clicked, and I think that’s what made it work. Because we all clicked outside of the ring and we were all riding together, so it all kinda transitioned to inside of the ring.”

“And then it just… it worked, man. “There’s not one time in the Judgment Day that we haven’t had a championship or all of us covered in gold, or constantly kicking people out to bring people in, it’s just crazy. It’s insane.” [H/T: Wrestletalk]
