Toni Storm is set to miss a considerable amount of time from AEW.
Storm was scheduled to face off with Marina Shafir in a No Holds Barred match on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Shortly before the show went on the air, however, AEW announced Storm was ruled out due to a backstage attack. AEW showed a clip of a bloodied Storm knocked out in her locker room, indicating her absence was storyline-related.
However, a new report suggests that this was a way to cover up a real-life injury that will keep Toni Storm out for a lengthy period.
F4WOnline.com‘s Bryan Alvarez is reporting that Storm will be out of action for “a long time” due to an undisclosed injury. Alvarez said that the injury is the reason Mina Shirakawa filled in for Storm in the match against Shafir. It’s unclear how long Storm will be out, as well as the exact nature and severity of her injuries.
Toni Storm last competed at AEW Revolution on Sunday, beating Shafir in a singles match. The conclusion of that match saw Ronda Rousey make a surprise appearance to confront Storm. Rousey and Storm were separated by security. This allowed Shafir to take a cheap shot at Storm from behind, which set up the match for Dynamite.
