Sami Zayn Pulls Kendrick Lamar Into Trick Williams Feud Ahead of WWE WrestleMania 42

The rivalry between Sami Zayn and Trick Williams for WrestleMania 42 has taken a fun and unexpected turn, as Zayn tried to involve rap icon Kendrick Lamar after he got hit by Williams’ diss track.

This comes after Williams teamed up with Lil Yachty to release a diss track called “Gingerbread Man” a few days ago. The song takes direct shots at Zayn before their United States Championship match in Las Vegas. It includes personal lines, jokes about Zayn’s struggles, and even mentions his past issues with The Bloodline.

Some lyrics suggest Zayn hasn’t been the same since leaving the group. Williams claims himself as the future of WWE and even tells Zayn not to “cry” when he takes over.

The rivalry has been building for weeks, with both wrestlers taking both verbal and physical shots at each other. Things have gotten more intense recently after Zayn hit Lil Yachty with a Helluva Kick at ringside.

Fan reactions have also become interesting. Zayn is usually a fan favorite, but Williams and Yachty’s energy has won over some of the crowd.

Sami Zayn responds to Trick Williams’ diss track by tagging Kendrick Lamar

Now, instead of replying with his own diss track, Zayn did something different. He posted on X and tagged Kendrick Lamar, saying, “@kendricklamar need your help with something hmu.”

That was obviously a reference to the famous diss track battle between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. By bringing up Lamar, Zayn added a real hip-hop feel to wrestling kayfabe.

At the same time, Williams has fully leaned into his rap-inspired style. He has said earlier as well that his promos are influenced by hip-hop. He has also credited the 2005 film Hustle & Flow and rapper Al Kapone for the “Whoop That Trick” chant. Teaming up with Lil Yachty only adds to that image.
