Bayley Teases NXT Talent Scouting for John Cena Classic After WWE Announcement

Bayley may already have her eyes on WWE’s next breakout star following a major announcement involving upcoming WWE NXT live events.

After WWE confirmed several main roster names would appear on this weekend’s NXT house show loop, Bayley hinted that her appearances could involve scouting talent for the newly announced John Cena Classic.

During the May 12 episode of NXT, WWE revealed that Bayley, Penta, and Grayson Waller will all work NXT live events this weekend. The shows for May 15 take place in Buffalo, New York, May 16 in Canton, Ohio, and May 17 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.

Bayley reacted after WWE added main roster stars to this weekend’s NXT Live Events

Shortly after the announcement, Bayley reacted on X. She hinted at her involvement in the newly introduced John Cena Classic concept unveiled by John Cena at WWE Backlash 2026.

“When the GOAT John Cena creates an opportunity for NXT talent to be seen, then it’s time to go scout,” Bayley wrote.

While Bayley didn’t directly confirm any future involvement in the tournament-style concept, the message immediately fueled speculation about potential interactions between established main roster stars and rising NXT talent.

The John Cena Classic was announced at WWE Backlash. It will continue as a recurring event designed to showcase “the best of today” against “the best of tomorrow.”

The concept includes Raw and SmackDown stars competing against NXT talent. Moreover, fans ultimately wield power and vote to determine the champion of the new John Cena Classic Championship.

Bayley has already shown public interest in at least one potential matchup. After a fan suggested a bout between Bayley and Tatum Paxley on social media, Bayley directly asked the NXT Women’s North American Champion if she was ready for the challenge. Paxley responded affirmatively.

The upcoming live event appearances also arrive during a quieter stretch for Bayley on main roster television following WrestleMania. Meanwhile, Penta continues appearing on WWE Raw as Intercontinental Champion. Waller has remained without a clear direction after the reported departure of The New Day from WWE.

For now, WWE’s crossover approach between the main roster and NXT appears to be expanding. More importantly, Bayley looks more than ready to scout the future firsthand.
