Recently Hospitalized WWE Star Shares New Update After Major Surgery

Piper Niven is finally back out of the hospital following major neck surgery, and the WWE star appears to be keeping her spirits high despite a long recovery road still ahead.

The former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion shared a new update with fans on May 14 after undergoing a serious medical procedure tied to a potentially career-threatening injury.

Posting on social media (X) alongside photos from a hotel room, Niven wrote, “Discharged and living large.”

The images showed Niven relaxing comfortably while wearing a visible neck brace following her recent anterior discectomy surgery in California. Between the neck brace, fruit platter, and thumbs-up pose, the update had a bit of “Stone Cold recovery” energy.

Piper Niven opens up after eight-month injury battle

Niven had previously revealed she underwent an anterior cervical discectomy after spending roughly eight months sidelined with a severe neck issue. Reports following her last WWE match in Aug. 2025 described the injury as potentially career-ending.

Before the surgery, Niven shared a heartfelt message explaining how difficult the process had been physically and emotionally.

“I have so much I want to say about the past 8 months,” Niven wrote earlier this week. “Pain and heartbreak are incredible teachers.”

She also noted that she woke up from surgery already feeling improvement and added that she expects to come back “much stronger” after the experience.

The procedure involved removing damaged disc material from her neck to relieve nerve pressure and stabilize the affected area. Typical recovery timelines for that type of surgery can stretch several months, although WWE has not announced an official timetable for her return.

Niven last wrestled on the Aug. 22, 2025, episode of WWE SmackDown in Dublin, Ireland, where she defeated Charlotte Flair. At the time, she was aligned with Chelsea Green as part of the Secret Hervice faction.

For now, Niven’s focus appears locked on recovery rather than a quick return. Still, after finally leaving the hospital and sharing a positive update, it’s clear the former “Doudrop” is trying to powerbomb this setback one step at a time.
