Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up: Ronda Rousey Wins The Rumble, Queen Of The Carnival Crowned, James Set To Defend KO Title

Wrestle Carnival Crowns Inaugural Queen Of The Carnival

On January 30th, Wrestle Carnival set their Gauntlet For The Gold match into motion to crown their first-ever Queen of the Carnival Champion.

As a reminder, here are the official rules of the match:

“Two competitors begin the match in the ring, followed by competitors entering at time intervals. Elimination is the standard battle royal format in which a competitor must go over the top rope and hit the floor in order to be eliminated.

If a wrestler falls to the floor without going over the top rope or is thrown over the top, but does not fall to the floor, the competitor may re-enter the ring and continue the match.

The final portion of the match consists of the last two competitors squaring off in a regular singles match in which victory must be attained by pinfall of submission.”

Eight of the United Kingdom’s brightest stars competed in the Gauntlet for the Gold Match over the weekend, including Lana Austin and Chantal Jordan, who started off the match. Next, Rhio and Jetta entered the fray, drawing the third and fourth spots. Lizzy Evo, Alex Windsor, Mercedez Blaze, and Charlie Morgan would follow suit in the order to join the gauntlet.

Lana Austin and Mercedez Blaze would be the first two eliminated from the match, but two more competitors joined the match in shocking fashion. Alexxis Falcon and Gia Adams joined the crop of competitors, but soon found themselves eliminated as well.

In the end, the final two competitors came down to Rhio and Alex Windsor with the Queen of the Carnival Championship on the line. The final portion of the match now became a regular singles match. Alex Windsor ultimately secured the victory via submission, becoming the first ever Queen of the Carnival.

Windsor returned to the professional wrestling scene last August for the first time since 2017 at EVE’s Wrestle Queendom 4. Since then, she’s competed for the Heart of SHIMMER Championship, but also taken home two championships. Now the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Champion and Queen of the Carnival Champion, Alex Windsor is certainly making her mark in the United Kingdom.
