Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up: Liv Morgan Makes Her Mania Decision, Zaria Turns On Sol Ruca, Amira Blair Interview

Liv Morgan chooses her WrestleMania 42 opponent. Zaria turns on her long-time partner Sol Ruca. Amira Blair chats with WrestleZone and more!

Liv Morgan Makes Her WrestleMania Decision

Since winning the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble, Liv Morgan has taken her path to WWE WrestleMania 42 under careful consideration. On this week’s episode of WWE Raw, she didn’t hold back on her grand stage reveal.

Per Morgan’s order, WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer and Women’s Champion Jade Cargill joined Morgan (and her on-screen boyfriend Dominik Mysterio) in the ring on Raw. According to Morgan, she didn’t know much about Vaquer’s struggles to get to WWE beforehand. She additionally apologized for judging “La Primera” in recent weeks. Looking ahead, though, Morgan asserted that it was time to focus on her own story, beginning with a WrestleMania 42 match against Vaquer.

Morgan made that decision clear by clocking Vaquer in the face and unloading a flurry of punches on her. To cap the attack off, Morgan then drove Vaquer into the mat with an Oblivion.

At WrestleMania 42, Morgan will officially challenge Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship, a title that Morgan last held in January 2025. Meanwhile, Jade Cargill will defend her title against the winner of the Women’s Elimination Chamber match.

This year’s Chamber field consists of Tiffany Stratton, Rhea Ripley, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Kiana James, and Raquel Rodriguez, the latter of whom remains aligned with Morgan. Cargill dethroned Stratton for the title at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event back in November.

Zaria Turns On Sol Ruca

Together, Zaria and Sol Ruca cemented themselves as one of WWE’s most dominant tag teams, with Ruca simultaneously reigning as the NXT Women’s North American and Women’s Speed Champion. Together, the two even challenged for the Women’s Tag Team Championships at WWE Evolution. Behind their apparent success, though, Zaria felt their relationship to be one-sided, so she finally decided to do something about it.

After Ruca’s controversial leap to number one contender status, Zaria made sure that she wouldn’t secure NXT Women’s Champion status either. As Ruca prepared to challenge Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Championship on WWE NXT this week, Zaria blindsided her with a spear and an F5. Once the bell officially rang, Jayne then followed with a Rolling Encore to pin Ruca and retain her NXT Women’s Championship.

Following Jayne’s quick win, Zaria continued her attack on Ruca by launching her into the announce table, making it clear that their partnership was no more.

With Ruca now friendless and championshipless thanks to her, Zaria later demanded that Jayne give her a title shot next. Jayne accepted, with Interim NXT General Manager Robert Stone announcing their respective title match for next week on NXT.

Winnipeg’s Voyageur Cup

“The CEO” Mercedes Mone reigns as the Winnipeg Pro Wrestling Women’s Champion, and several women are battling to secure a title shot against her.

On March 13 and 14, Winnipeg Pro Wrestling will host its 2026 Voyageur Cup event at the West End Cultural Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Across the two-night event, eight talents will compete in the first-ever Women’s Voyageur Cup tournament, in which the winner will earn the right to challenge Mone for the WPW Women’s Championship.

Amongst this year’s Women’s Voyageur Cup lineup is former WWE star Shayna Baszler and Jody Threat, currently signed to TNA. Elsewhere is a number of veteran and rising indie stars.

The full tournament field is as follows:

  • Shayna Baszler
  • Allie Katch
  • Nikki Blackheart
  • Ava Lawless
  • Kristara
  • Gigi Rey
  • Jody Threat
  • Dani Leo

Opening round matches will commence on night one, while the semi-finals and finals will run as part of the event’s night two festivities. The Women’s Voyageur Cup winner will go on to challenge Mone for the WPW Women’s Championship at the promotion’s Fight at the Museum event on March 31.

Mone initially claimed the title by defeating Threat in October 2025.
