Lady Frost is coming for the top spot in MLW and the indies.
Following her exit from AEW, Lady Frost has begun a new chapter in her career, filled with fresh goals and scenery. During an interview with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay, she laid out her ambitions for both the indie scene and her new home, Major League Wrestling.
Within MLW, Frost has one big thing on her mind: the MLW Women’s World Championship, currently held by Shotzi Blackheart. According to Frost, though, the carrier of the title is irrelevant as she’ll take on whatever and whoever to capture it herself.
“I’m just coming for the top spot [in MLW],” she said. “That’s my only mission. I mean, I’ll take whatever challengers in front of me if they’re new, if they’re current, it doesn’t matter. I have my eyes set on that championship. That’s something that I wanted from the start.”
Another point of interest lies in MLW’s strategic partnership with STARDOM, which so far has brought Saya Kamitani and RINA to MLW grounds. Frost welcomes more STARDOM talents to do the same and added that, if given the opportunity, she would be more than happy to wrestle in Japan too.
“It’s always everyone,” Frost said when asked which STARDOM names she’s eyeing. “I never like to cherry pick because you don’t know what kind of magic you’re going to create. I think that women’s wrestling culture, again, is very disciplined and everyone is super talented. It’s another challenge and another style of wrestling that I fit right into. I’ve always loved whatever matchup I’ve had. I think DPW, West Coast Pro, I’ve had interactions with these STARDOM talents. So it would be quite a privilege to get my ass to Japan. It’s on the list. The fact that it hasn’t happened yet is criminal.”
Frost wants a global reach
Outside of Japan, Frost identified the United Kingdom as another place in which she’d like to wrestle. In the case of the UK, it would mark a return for the “Ice Cold Killer.”
“I want to get back to the UK. Japan was obviously at the top of the list. More tours of Mexico, which are definitely in the works,” Frost said in reference to her current goals. “The [MLW] championship for one, and then I want to take every belt on the indies that’s available every match. I know Greektown doesn’t even have a women’s championship. I’m pushing for that. The same with AIW. They retired theirs. I’m trying to get that one back because I think it is an honor to carry the name or the legacy of a company and have them believe that you are the one to do so. I’ve been the Fight Factory women’s champion for a long time. But it’s important because you’re elevating the division that each promotion has or whatever talent that they’re bringing in.”
On a more personal note, Frost also mentioned that she wants to showcase her entire in-ring repertoire, as that was something that was greatly limited in recent years. She added that this is why she’s signed up for steel cages, hardcore matches, and other special stipulations on the indies.
“I’m not just a two-minute match gal,” she said. “You’re going to see me in a cage. You’re gonna see me having hardcore matches. You’re going to see me taking titles, and you’re going to see me on [MLW] TV every week because you’re starting the petition.”
