Title This: Impact Wrestling Reaction 1-31-13

Kurt AngleKurt Angle defeated Ken Anderson in a Steel Cage Match to end this edition of Impact Wrestling. I have seen Angle and Anderson fight before, but this time was excellent. I loved seeing these two guys work together. The styles of both men mesh so well, with Anderson being the brawler and Angle being the technician. I think these two know each other so well inside and out of the ring, and you can sense the chemistry between the two. The pace of the match picked up early, when Angle was able to toss Anderson into the cage and hitting an Angle Slam, Anderson kicks out and the match continues. The men exchange blows, back and forth, back and forth, and Angle takes down Anderson with some excellent suplexes. The big spot came when Angle hit an Angle Slam from the top rope. This is another reason why I love Angle. He continues to age, but his body takes great bumps for the crowd. It was a great spot and Kurt continues to lay his health on the line. The ending came when Angle kicked out of a Mic Check, locked in an Ankle Lock, and picked up the victory.

After the match, Garrett Bischoff and Wes Brisco attack Angle and are revealed as members of Aces and Eights. Since this was taped, I knew this was going to happen. Is it shocking? No. Does this make Aces and Eights more legit? No. Will this ultimately help Wes Brisco become a big player in TNA? Yes. This is the start of Brisco vs. Angle, and could be excellent for a guy like him to learn the ropes to a greater extent with Angle. I am excited for that aspect, but I still think this is a letdown for the entire group. Does anyone care? No.
